Empowering Older Adults to Use Medication Safely
The following resources enable pharmacists to educate older adults on safe medication use. The Institute for Safe Medication Practices Canada (ISMP Canada) created three presentation templates for pharmacists to use in community outreach initiatives to empower older adults to use medications safely. Pharmacy professionals can use these slide decks and supporting resources in partnership with assisted living or seniors organizations to demonstrate how older adults can work with their pharmacist or other healthcare provider to keep themselves safe when using medication(s).
These presentations were made possible with the generous support of the Manitoba Institute for Patient Safety (MIPS) via the Dr. John Wade Patient Safety Initiatives Grant.![]() |
